U.S. Economy: Job Growth Quickens, Unemployment Drops (Update3)
April 6 (Bloomberg) -- American employers added more workers than forecast in March and the jobless rate matched a five-year low, giving the economy a spark as it struggles to overcome slumps in housing and manufacturing.

State lets track start racing Friday
Vernon Downs got the go-ahead Monday to begin what owners hope will be the first full racing season since 2003. Track owners proved to the state Racing and Wagering Board they had paid $6 million in loans as the board had required. That allows races to start Friday.

Veteran, 82, gets high school diploma
